A lot of people ask what our policy is on nudity or what we think of it in modeling. Well first off we're totally fine with it. We love the human body and nudity and take no issue, but a lot of people ask "is it required? Should it be?" and other thought provoking questions of that nature.
Here's a recent email exchange (with permission) that helps identify our take on nudity and modeling
"You seem like you know whats up and well I for a minute have been wanting to get into modeling,
Suicide Girls tried to get me to join them I'm just not comfortable showing everything,
I feel you can be sexy without showing anything, so I turned them down.
I've just found it almost impossible to find another modeling job because I have a few piercings and tattoos
and I keep being told I have amazing potential but my appearance isn't professional.
Do you have any advice for me?"

Well I'll tell you what I've seen and experienced.
One, if you have piercings and tattoos then conventional modeling is pretty much out the window. There are a lot of venues for alternative modeling - AntiPretty being one of them - we certainly don't require nudity, but a lot of sites out there do.
From what I've noticed there's a general trend especially in Alternative Modeling toward acceptance of nudity. I don't think it's necessarily pornographic in nature, but simply if you're willing to be totally confidant in your body enough to model, then generally nudity is not an issue. Most models of all types have done some type of artistic/glamour nude work at least maybe to get started.
My advice isn't to go out and just 'get naked' but to be open to it as a medium that's definitely a major theme through modeling. Going into the niche of alternative modeling (which tattoos and piercings relegate you to) almost requires it. However we're open minded and happy to have 'sexy' pics that don't involve nudity (or that do). And hopefully sites like ours will have enough support in the modeling community to make that a viable option.
