Bramani Quinn is a circus, dance, burlesque, and fire performer, model, and costumer based out of Oakland, CA. Growing up in New York she played the flute in more than a dozen bands, dabbled in piano for a few years, and worked on set design and construction in her high school theater. Being exposed to every type of music from improvised jazz to classical orchestral arrangements, Broadway show tunes, and marching band renditions of hip-hop, pop, and soul has given her an intense appreciation for variety and an intimate understanding of musicality, which she now capitalizes on as a performance artist.
Life as a dancer for Bramani started In West Virginia, where she was attending college. She sought out belly dancing as a way to connect with her Hungarian gypsy heritage but it became such an integral part of her life that after getting a B.S. in Forensic Science and a B.A. in Criminology she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, the mecca of tribal fusion belly dance, and began considering performance as a career path.
Since moving to the bay area she has found circus arts, fire performance, burlesque, and modeling. Looking to make a full time career out of her art she currently teaches adult and kid’s aerials classes at Trapeze Arts in Oakland and performs world wide. She has performed across the bay area as a soloist in the biggest local events, such as New Bohemia New Years at the Armory, Hubba Hubba Revue, Tourettes Without Regrets, and Red Hots Burlesque as well as with some of the most successful area troupes including House of Tarot produced by Zoe Jakes of Beats Antique and clown troupe Fou Fou Ha! In Fall of 2014 she went international when she was featured on a news cast in Malta and hopes to continue her career teaching, performing, and modeling as she travels the world.
She is incredibly thankful for Antipretty’s support and honored to be this months feature model.
