Shelley plays "operator" with total commitment and a tiny flicker of "can you believe they let me hold this," which is exactly the AntiPretty sweet spot: completely serious about a completely ridiculous premise. Boots planted, jaw set, ready for a war that's really just a very stylish afternoon.
