Julie: Deep End

Julie trades the studio for the deep end and turns a backyard pool into a weightless little world. Purple bikini, dark hair fanning out like ink in water, she sinks, twists and drifts through the turquoise, eyes open, lungs full, completely at home upside down. Sunlight fractures across the surface and paints ribbons over her skin; every frame is one long held breath. Cool, surreal, and unbothered by gravity. Pool, 2009.
