Lisa: Required Reading

Required Reading is the smartest shoot in the archive and the least interested in finishing a chapter. Glasses on, white shirt open, red lipstick, sprawled on a fur rug in a fortress of paperbacks — Gone Girl, Grimm's, and a stack of things she's clearly not going to get to tonight.

It's the bookish-boudoir fantasy done exactly right: brainy, slow-burning, and self-aware enough to wink at the whole genre. Lisa lounges with a book held open and her attention very much elsewhere, the picture of "I was reading, I swear" delivered with zero sincerity. The studio's clean and bright; everything else is anything but.

We love a shoot that's hot because of the attitude rather than in spite of it, and this one's all attitude — equal parts library and lingerie, with a literacy rate that's frankly distracting.

She'll get to the next chapter. Eventually. Probably not.
